The 2021 South Coogee Project transformed the space into a coastal Hamptons-style retreat, using natural materials like light hardwood, stone, and tropical plants for a welcoming, social garden.
Scope of Work
For the South Coogee Project, the following tasks were undertaken:
Site Assessment and Planning:
A thorough site inspection was conducted to align with the client’s vision of a coastal retreat. We assessed the layout, existing elements, and environmental factors to ensure the design would complement the coastal vibe.
Design, Planting, and Installation:
The design focused on creating a soft, flowing garden with tropical plants suited to coastal conditions. Key plant selections included Bangalow Palms, Elephant Ears, and Giant Birds of Paradise for their lush foliage and striking forms. We integrated Cumaru hardwood and a white-rendered garden bed, with custom bench seating built into the design, flowing around the boundary to create a social space. A copper outdoor shower was also installed to enhance the coastal aesthetic.
Clean Up:
After construction, our team ensured the site was left in pristine condition. We carefully removed all debris, cleaned the garden area, and performed a final inspection to ensure all elements, from the bench seating to the plants, were properly installed and the site was ready for immediate use.
