Clovelly: Low-Maintenance Coastal Garden

For the 2020 Clovelly project, we designed a low-maintenance, free-flowing coastal garden that perfectly complements the home’s modern aesthetic, softening sharp architectural lines and enhancing the overall curb appeal.

Scope of Work

For the Clovelly project, the following tasks were undertaken:

Site Assessment and Planning:

We assessed the site to design a garden that would both suit the location and soften the modern home’s uniform lines. Our focus was on creating a harmonious balance between the sleek architecture and the coastal garden features.

Design, Planting, and Installation:

The design integrated low-maintenance, drought-tolerant plants with the use of natural materials to create a relaxed yet sophisticated garden. Porphyry crazy paving was used for the driveway, adding texture and interest, while Spotted Gum and Australian sandstone were incorporated for the garden and custom fencing. The planting scheme focused on native plants suited to the coastal climate, with careful consideration for aesthetics and ease of maintenance. The soft, flowing garden was designed to provide a peaceful retreat that would be easy to care for.

Clean Up:

Once construction was completed, we ensured the site was fully cleaned, removing all construction debris. The final touches were made to ensure all features, from the driveway to the plantings, were perfectly installed and ready for the homeowners to enjoy.

Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability was at the forefront of the Clovelly project. We carefully selected drought-tolerant plants suited to the coastal environment to minimise water usage and reduce long-term maintenance. The materials chosen, such as Spotted Gum and Australian sandstone, were durable and responsibly sourced to ensure the garden would thrive sustainably over time.

The Clovelly project successfully transformed the outdoor space into a low-maintenance, free-flowing garden that enhances the modern home’s design. The combination of natural materials, native plants, and functional features created a welcoming outdoor retreat that complements the home’s architectural style.
